One law that a lot of feminist have advocated for is the elimination of the statue of limitations which puts a limitation on when a rapist can be charged and prosecuted. Well, that is over in California as gov. Jerry Brown signed to eliminate the statue of limitations today, and that is great news. Now, it does not matter how long a rape occurred, if someone is found guilty of rape, they can be charged for it now. Statue of limitations removed.
I hope more states follow suite. California made a bold move and anyone who is raped should be able to prosecute, time line should not matter when it comes to bringing a rapist to justice. This is a victory for rape victims and that is always good. Maybe, this will bring more rapist to court and they will serve a jail sentence for their crimes against humanity.
